Text-only line items

A text-only line item can now be inserted when creating an invoice, quote or template. These special line items are a full width item of rich text only. They do not contain any of the regular quantity functionality and do not contribute to the total of the invoice. They’re very useful for providing additional information and delineating sections of an invoice.

Send invoices via Microsoft or Outlook

Invoices, quotes and statements can now be sent via a Microsoft account (Outlook, MS365, Live, Hotmail). To connect your Microsoft head to the email settings and click the “Connect Microsoft” button. The connection process is a simple authentication with Microsoft and takes less than 30 seconds. Once connected you’ll see “Current” appear next to the Microsoft option. All client communication will then be sent via your MS account and be visible in your “Sent” folder.

Send from Gmail aliases

A custom Sender Email can now be set when sending via Google Workspace that uses a custom domain name.
For example, a connected Google account “sarah@acmestudios.com.au” can now send invoices from “accounts@acmestudios.com.au”.
Important note: The sender email must match a registered sender alias within your Gmail settings (this is different to a receiver alias defined within Google Workspace admin)

New email UI and email drafts

When sending invoices or quotes to your client, the full document will now appear alongside the email form - useful for spotting any last minute changes. If you do need to make changes, emails themselves can now also be saved, meaning you can pick your email up where you left off. Just click the “Save” button at the bottom of the email form.

Copy BAS values to clipboard

Correctly formatted BAS values (with no commas) can now be copied directly to your computer’s clipboard for easy pasting into ATO’s BAS portal.

Mobile dark mode

Rounded mobile is now a little easier on the eyes. To activate dark mode on mobile, tap the menu button at the bottom right, scroll down to "Your account" and then tap "Colour theme".

Reconcile to existing expenses

It's common to create an expense and snap the receipt at the time of purchase. Now, when the transaction shows up in your bank feed, it can be linked to the expense you've already created. There are two ways to do this:

Click the 'Other' button on a debit transaction and select "Link existing expense"
On the create expense popup, click "Link to existing expense" in the bottom right corner

Expense refunds

You can now account for a full or partial expense refund. This is achieved via creating negative expenses. Creating negative expenses allows for a clear audit trail and preserves the data of the original expense. There are multiple ways to account for a refund:

A refund is most likely to appear as a credit transaction in your bank feed. Click the 'Other' button and select "Expense refund"
An existing expense can be duplicated into a new, negative expense. Click the 3 dots menu at the end of the expense row and select "Refund"
Simply create an expense as usual, however input the total as a negative value.

Customise all text on invoices

Every piece of text on an invoice or quote can now be customised. For example "Issued" can be changed to "Service date".

To make changes to the default text, on desktop, click "Branding & design" and select the "Content" tab. To make these changes stick, remember to edit your invoice or quote template.

Google & Apple Pay for invoices

Your clients can now use their digital wallets to pay your invoices online. Depending on their preferred platform, Google Pay or Apple Pay and Stripe Link will appear as payment options on both desktop and mobile.

Vertical invoice footer layouts

Invoice payment details and footer notes can now be stacked vertically on top of each other. This is handy to avoid the layout breaking with long content in the footer notes. To change your footer layout, click "Branding & design" and select the "Design" tab.

Additional invoice quantity types

You can now choose from different quantity types (weight, volume, distance, time etc) to use across your invoices and quotes.

Invoice headers and layouts

Invoices and quotes now support header graphics and two new layout options.
To add a header a graphic, click “Branding & design” on your invoice or template. The header graphics can be uploaded in the brand tab.
Be sure to add the header graphic to your template to ensure the graphic is applied to all invoices and quotes going forward.

Filter active and completed projects

New consolidation options when invoicing tracked time

You can now choose how you want your time entries to be consolidated when they're included on an invoice. This can be particularly useful when you only want a single line item for all the time worked.

You can include your time entries as:

Individual line items (each time entry as a line item)
Consolidate everything (All time entries will be consolidated into one line item)
Consolidate by project (one line item per project)
Consolidate by rate (one line item but keeps the total hours and rate)

Remove consolidation from timesheet

Only load active projects by default

A surcharge can now be added to your invoices that are paid by Stripe to help cover the processing fees.
Surcharges are adjustable from 0.25% to 3% to comply with Australian rules (surcharges cannot be more than the fee charged by the processor).

GST inclusive pricing

When creating invoices or quotes you can set your prices to be either inclusive or exclusive of taxes.
The tax method is configurable for individual invoices and quotes however the default can be set on your templates.

Attach receipts and select a client when adding expenses from bank feeds

When adding expenses via the bank feed you can now add attachments directly, rather than having to navigate to the created expense and add attachments separately.
A client (to on-charge the expense) can also be selected directly from the bank feeds.
Minor change - divider rows have been added to the expense list to help delineate between months when the expense list is sorted by date.

Sticky table headers and expense list with sortable table columns

When scrolling down a long table the table column headers will now stick to the top of the page.
The expense page on desktop now uses sortable table columns and can be sorted by date and total.

Expense and income attachments open in a lightbox preview
